Bianca is a scientist with nine years of experience in biological research. She first began her journey in research working in the environmental microbiology lab of Dr. Hope Johnson at Cal State University, Fullerton while in pursuit of her undergraduate degree. In graduate school, Bianca worked in the labs of Stan Fields and Judit Villén in the Department of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington. Her work focused on the development of proteomics technologies for reading out the functional consequences of amino acid substitutions in proteins at scale. While she started as an experimental scientist working at the bench, during graduate school, she shifted her focus to developing computational skills in omics data analysis and visualization. She graduated with her PhD in Genome Sciences in 2021. When she is not doing proteomics, Bianca enjoys dancing, running, and spending time with her partner Ian and their dog Clifford.
