Cameron grew up in the Midwest in Ohio and attended Miami University-Oxford, where he pursued his undergraduate studies in biochemistry and conducted research on enzymes that confer bacteria with resistance to antibiotics. Cameron earned his Ph.D. in biophysics at the University of California, Berkeley under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Martin. During his tenure in the Martin Lab, Cameron developed biophysical and biochemical assays to study the molecular mechanisms by which ATPase motor proteins collaborate to degrade polyubiquitinated protein targets. Outside of work, Cameron enjoys golfing, fishing, and going to concerts around the Bay Area!
