Waleed Osman is a seasoned software engineer and bioinformatics data engineer with a special concentration in Next Generation Sequencing and Proteomics. He has over 7 years of experience in various high profile bioinformatic and precision medicine projects. After graduating from Georgetown University, he spent several years with the National Cancer Institute developing enterprise applications for one of the largest precision medicine studies in NIH’s history. Next, he engineered and managed the genomic data and software infrastructure serving hundreds of patients at a teaching hospital in the heart of NYC. He has extensive experience with various software languages and cloud infrastructure platforms as well as the analysis and integration of multi-omic datasets. He aspires to significantly contribute to the field of precision medicine by helping to facilitate the research that will be needed to bring computational solutions from bench to bedside.
Outside of work, Waleed enjoys reading, training in martial arts and keeping up with world news and events.
