Louis is an immunologist interested in understanding the changes in immune response during chronic infections and diseases. After completing his undergraduate studies, he joined the Johns Hopkins Viral Hepatitis Center as a Research Technologist where he was involved with conducting a phase II HCV vaccine trial. After a couple years, his focus shifted to studying sex-based differences during chronic HIV and HCV infection with Dr. Eileen Scully. Prior to joining Interline, Louis came to the San Francisco Bay Area to work at Berkeley Lights, Inc as part of their Antibody Discovery group. He supported many internal and external antibody discovery projects by isolating and characterizing primary immune cells, optimizing culturing conditions and assay development for Berkeley Lights’ high throughput microfluidic screening systems. Louis is completing his MS in Biotechnology part-time, and is expected to graduate in May 2022. Outside of school and lab, he is an avid skier and enjoys hiking and camping in the warmer months.
